Memorial Day weekend is traditionally a busy holiday for outdoor sports, particularly boating. June 2 is likewise shaping up as a busy day, partly because it’s the start of National Fishing and Boating Week and it’s free fishing day in Texas. All fishing license requirements are waived for June 2 only. Free fishing day is intended to encourage lapsed anglers to reconnect with the outdoors.
